This necklace is hand-crafted by Buster Collins in oxidised sterling silver. The feature piece is a feather-print detail sprinkled with hand-pierced tiny stars.
Measurements: the total length including the chain is 47cm. The pendant is 55mm long and 14mm wide.
Matariki is celebrated in Aotearoa New Zealand when the constellation widely known as Pleiades rises above the horizon in midwinter. For Māori this marks the start of the new year and the brightness of the stars is traditionally used as an indicator of the coming season’s crop.
This collection by Buster Collins uses the seven brightest stars in their configuration for a uniquely New Zealand piece of jewellery.
This piece is in stock and ready to ship. Customisation available on request. Because all our jewellery is individually handmade no two pieces are identical.
